I got the opportunity to go backstage at Boston Symphony Hall and hang out with Chick before his concert recently. Then he invited me to his private green room with a piano. We were alone, so I asked him if I could play him my composition called Gran Via, a flamenco jazz fusion tune, based on my time in Valencia, Spain. He liked it so...

Max Holm's ep DON'T BE A STRANGER is the debut from the near death TEDx speaker, and award-winning young Swedish-American jazz pianist.
Containing three original compositions, DON’T BE A STRANGER is an EP heavily influenced by my time at Berklee Valencia, Spain with elements of bossa nova, buleria, and other Mediterranean music in a contemporary jazz foundation. The title track DON’T BE A STRANGER was inspired by a one-night stand. As a Leo with Pisces rising I’m highly creative, but loving, romantic and open-hearted. I didn’t want...

Here’s a short clip of my live piano solo on Freddie Hubbard’s Birdlike at the 12on14 Jazz Club in Warsaw. My first gig in Poland. Birdlike is a 12-bar blues. We got a standing ovation and demands for an encore, something I’m told rarely happens at the 12on 14 Jazz Club. I guess people are too cool!
We played to hundreds of people on this tiny island off the coast of Ibiza. The stage was on the beach with a beautiful view behind us. Take a look at the view from behind the band towards the audience during our sound check a couple of hours before the performance began.
I signed a Music Licensing Deal, which means music I compose will be available for use in film, television, commercials and any other medium. The label I signed with is a Universal Music label called 10 Miles. It’s a catalog that focuses on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern music. My first original tune coming out with them is called May in the Balkans. Hopefully, more original...

Our Latin Jazz Band, Picante y Sabroso, was a huge hit at Musaico Festival on May 4, 2019! We had the crowd dancing salsa and shouting for an encore performance — something no other band was asked to do. It was a fun, relaxed and swinging time playing for hundreds of people at the festival in Valencia.
Thanks to Downbeat Magazine for giving me the 2019 Undergraduate College Outstanding Piano Performance Award! It’s an honor to be chosen from among all the college students worldwide who applied.
I had the honor of being asked by Rebal to play in his band for a concert at Bancaja Fundacíon in Valencia. We played swinging Jazz Middle Eastern and classical music fusion. This is going to be my favorite semester at Berklee College of Music. It’s not just because I’m getting into singing and songwriting, but because I have a lot more time to collaborate with other artists, while expanding my abilities into other genres. I’m able to graduate a year early because of all the credits I’m accumulated through testing out, dual enrollment credits I earned...

I’ve been asked to do a TED Talk on August 16, 2018 at the TripAdvisor HQ. The talk will be about how a near-death experience turned me into an award-winning jazz musician. Thanks to TEDXBeaconStreet for the opportunity. TEDXBeaconStreet is a regional New England TED that has gotten the most talks on the “big” TED.com. Our talks get millions of views.
When I play gigs, I actively promote them on social media, plus clients get a professionally designed PDF they can use to make posters and flyers or to put on their websites.
