Brubeck Fellowship
I’m happy to be able to announce that I’ve accepted a Fellowship at the Brubeck Institute beginning in August 2015. This is a huge honor and I’m so grateful. I received about $300,000 in scholarship offers and was admitted to Berklee College of Music, University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and Manhattan School of Music. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity that the fellowship offers! However, I will be attending one of those other schools at the end of my fellowship.
More about the fellowship:
The Brubeck Institute’s Fellowship Program is a one or two-year full-scholarship program in jazz performance for up to five musicians who have just graduated from high school. These are the Brubeck Fellows and they comprise the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet (BIJQ). They study with Institute faculty, visiting jazz educators, artists, clinicians, and Bay area professionals. They perform extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad in universities, high schools, civic centers, on concert series, in clubs and on jazz festivals.
