I’m pleased to be taking private lessons with JoAnne Brackeen, who played in Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. Her resume is extensive. She’s considered one of the top jazz pianists in the world, has composed hundreds of tunes, and has played with many jazz greats. She’s 78 years old, a professor at Berklee College of Music.

I’m performing at the 54th Annual Reno Jazz Festival in Nevada this weekend. One of the headliners is Snarky Puppy. I did a master class with Michael League, the leader of Snarky Puppy, about a year ago in LA. Lage Lund and the Collective are also headlining. I’m there with the University of the Pacific Big Band.

I’ll be performing with acclaimed vibraphonist-composer, multi-Grammy nominated Stefon Harris this Thursday, February 4 at the Take 5 Jazz Club in Stockton, along with the Brubeck Jazz Quartet.
